Christmas Party Makeup Look

We all know that the Christmas season comes with maybe one too many Christmas parties, which means that when it comes to doing our makeup for them it is very easy to become more than a little uninspired. However, seeing what other people use always puts the flare back into my makeup brush, which is why I thought I would share the products I love to use to create my favourite Christmas party look.

Base 

GlamGlow - Glowstarter Illuminating Moisturiser 

Before doing any form of makeup look it is important to prep the skin correctly with moisturiser to ensure that your face is hydrated and the makeup is going to sit nicely on your skin. I use the GlamGlow Glowstarter Illuminating Moisturiser as it nourishes the skin whilst also leaving behind a glorious glowing finish to the skin that looks amazing under makeup. 

Too Faced - Hangover Primer 

Once again when it comes to primer I am all about the hydration as I do have very dry skin and love to keep my skin and makeup looking hydrated and glowing throughout the day and into the night. The Too Faced Hangover Primer works an absolute treat for me as in hydrates and brightens the skin leaving it looking flawlessly dewy with a forever lasting glow. 

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation 

With the risk of sounding like a completely broken record, I do love to use the Too Faced Born This Way  foundation as once again it always keeps my skin looking fresh and hydrated. The secret to flawless makeup is finding the products that work best for your skin type and for me that is something that is going to add hydration. 

Hourglass - Ambient Lighting Powder  - Luminous Light 

After applying a fresh and flawless base I give my face a little dust of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in the shade Luminous Light as it sets the face nicely without being too matte as it does contain a little bit of shimmer which brings light to the face instead of deterring it.

Contour - Blush - Highlight 

Nars - Bord De Plague - Highlighting and Bronzing Palette 

When it comes to a Christmas inspired makeup look I love to use bronzer instead of contour as it is adds a little softness to the face when you are more than likely going to be sporting some form of a bold lip, whether it be a mulberry or a bright red. I love using the Nars Bord De Plague Palette as it contains two of my favourite bronzers, Casino and Laguna, that I love to mix together to create the perfect shade for myself. 

I use the same palette to create the effect of glowing skin with the gorgeous highlights in the Bord De Plague. Once again, I mix two shades, Rivage and Crique, together to create the perfect shade for my skin tone.

Clinique - Blushing Blush Powder - Bashful Plum 

 This blush is perfect as it creates a very subtle hint of colour to the face, not being too strong as I am wearing quite a bold lip. I don’t know how to put into words how gorgeous this blush looks on the skin, all I know that it looks flawlessly natural on the skin and I cannot get enough. 

Eyes 

Stila - Stay All Day - Precision Glide Brow Pencil 

These days brows seem to be one of the main things people love to focus on, however when it comes to a Christmas makeup look I steer towards a more naturally filled in brow. I tend to use the Stila Precision Glide Brow Pencil as it creates a very natural perfected brow. 

Stila - Eyes Are The Window - Soul Palette 

Here is where the look gets exciting and really starts coming together! I find that when it comes to Christmas a bronze slightly smokey eye is always best! I tend to always use the Stila Soul Palette as it has my three favourite shades to create a bronze eye; affection (mobile lid), individual (crease shade) and kitten (inner corner and brow bone highlight). 

Stila - Magnificent Metals Liquid Eyeshadow - Smoldering Satin 

There is nothing I love doing more than adding a pop of something special to an otherwise pretty normal eyeshadow! Just a quick swipe of Smoldering Satin over the top of your eyeshadow and your look is 100x more glam. 

Too Faced - Better Than Sex Mascara 

I don’t think I really need to justify why I love using Better Than Sex, it i lengthening, volumising and just completely gorgeous. One quick application and you are ready to go.

Lips 

Colourpop Lippie Stix - Matte X -  Trust Me 

Trust Me is my favourite red lipstick for the Christmas season as it the perfect cool toned red, matching my skin tone like a dream. Plus, the matte formula means that this bad boy will be lasting your entire Christmas party, drinks and all.
